I recently scheduled a chimney inspection and cleaning after noticing debris falling down the chimney and experiencing a draft in my home. AB's husband and wife team were able to schedule me very quickly and at a reasonable price. I scheduled with Kathy, who explained before I booked that after the inspection I could do a cleaning and some of the cost of the inspection would go towards the cost of cleaning the chimney. They gave me a three hour time window and arrived within the agreed-upon time window and were extremely thorough in their examination. They took the time to show me before and after pictures, clearly illustrating the issues and the improvements they made. Before automatically adding the cleaning on, they checked with me which I appreciated.

During the inspection, Bartholomew determined that the chimney needed patching up with chimney sealant to prevent potential roof leaks and that some additional repairs would be good for my chimney long-term. After he answered all of my important questions, he patched everything up on the spot leaving me with peace of mind. Moreover, they provided me with valuable insights into how to enhance the functionality and safety of my fireplace.

The cleaning took about 30 minutes and it has vastly improved the smokey smell that would regularly waft into my living room and there is no more debris falling from above. They showed my before and after pictures, and explained that at one point there was a chimney fire and some of the stains wouldn't be removed. What stood out was their dedication to maintaining a clean and tidy workspace. They took great care to cover everything in the living room, ensuring no traces of their soot or dirt were left behind. Overall, I am highly satisfied with Bartholomew and Kathy's service and would wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone in need of chimney inspection and maintenance. Not only are they great at their job, but they're very kind people who I enjoyed talking to after the service was complete. If you have a fireplace that hasn't had a cleaning in a while, I would highly recommend you get it cleaned and book the AB team to do the job!

They came and did a good job cleaning our wood burning stove. It's a 2 story house with a basement, which is where the stove was. He got up on the roof in the middle of a blizzard. Our chimney is very tall, maybe 25-28 feet, but somehow they were able to clean the entire length of it.

They put down tarps and used filtered suction equipment, which made for very little dust and no mess.

Bartholomew came to inspect my chimney, which I thought needed patching but turned out to need a whole lot more. He was patient and understanding as he walked me through building codes, structural issues, what he thought had happened, and his plan to repair the chimney.

Once he got into it, it turned out to be more technical than originally thought. He was able to figure out how to make it work, and the result is fantastic.

They were quick, efficient, good natured, and willing to share what they were doing and why.

We have been noticing that the brick chimney on our house looked like it needed tuck pointing. We wanted to make sure that we would get a quality repair. We also wanted to make sure that we got the right people to do the work. We did a very comprehensive search to find the right people to do the work. They were so good at analyzing our problem and diagnosing what was wrong and honestly telling us what would be required to get the chimney repaired properly. Then they went to work and wow were we impressed. In difficult summer working conditions they rapidly and expertly repaired the damage without damaging our roof or leaving any unsightly construction mess. Every time I look at my chimney I just smile. The work was right, the price was right, and I felt like the Richards were now my good friends. They did a great job cleaning the firebox and chimney. I'm now confident in using our wood burning fireplace. They also informed us and took photos of the mess left in our gutters by another company that had redone the stucco on our chimney. The result of that work left the seal on our chimney cap broken, which A.B. Richards repaired for a reasonable fee. The cleaning fee was exactly what was quoted over the phone and warranted for the professionalism and responsiveness provided. They also took the time to give us a quote for cleaning our gutters and windows, which I asked for.
